Frequently Asked Questions

General FAQ’s:

How do I book? +

Simply submit your details by hitting the BOOK NOW button on the releveant session page or alternatively drop me a message here. We can then discuss available dates/times. Once that's all agreed, I will send over the session contract and invoice to confirm your booking.

How far do you travel for a photo session? +

I am happy to travel to all areas, but please bear in mind that I may have to add on additional travel costs depending on where your location of choice is. Just let me know where you are thinking of and we can take it from there.

What should we wear for our photo session? +

Wear what you love, something that makes you feel comfortable. You’ll want your outfits to complement the surroundings of our session, maybe take inspiration from the location and the season. Some thoughtful co-ordination is great but try to avoid all matching outfits, we want to see your individual personalities! Layers, different textures and accessories can all add some depth and interest. Avoid logos, characters and bold patterns such as spots and stripes as these can distract.

If you're stuck for ideas then just get in touch, or why not check out my Pinterest board for some inspiration.

How do we prepare for our photo session? +

If children are attending the session, it can be really useful for you to talk to them and let them know exactly what is going to happen ahead of the day. Talk them through step by step of what to expect so they’re mentally prepared and ready to have some fun! It is also worth while to make sure that you have snacks and drinks available for children to keep their energy levels up. I am more than happy to take a small break to refuel and recharge.

Please feel free to also bring along any favourite toys/comforters that you don't mind popping up in the photos!

When and how do we view our images? +

Please allow 14-21 working days from the session taking place to receive your online preview gallery where you will be able to access and view your images from the comfort of your own home. You can then look through the gallery at your leisure and select your final images.

What happens if it rains? +

Unfortunately the British weather can be somewhat unpredictable! I am not at all worried about light rain, as rainy photos can be just as beautiful! But if the weather is really not acceptable (heavy rain, thunder storms, high winds, heavy snow/ice), we can reschedule. I will keep an eye on the weather forecast and will be in touch 24-48 hours before hand if I feel we need to reschedule.

What happens if my child is ill on the day of the photo session? +

As a mum myself, I understand that you can’t plan illness. Just let me know as soon as you can, it’s best if everyone is on top form for the session, therefore I am more than happy to reschedule.

Can I buy additional images and products from you? +

Yes of course! You can purchase additional edited images from The Mini and The Midi Sessions as well as professional quality products, with all of the above packages. We can discuss options and pricing during your consultation.

Do you have to share our images in your portfolio and across social media? +

Most definitely not. It is lovely when I can share my latest work as it keeps my portfolio current but I completely respect your right to privacy too.

The Birth Sessions FAQ’S:

When should I book? +

As early as possible! I only take on a limited number of births over the course of each year. Therefore, please get in touch so that we can discuss my availability. The booking fee must be paid to secure your due date, with the remaining balance due at our 37 week consultation.

I am happy to offer an interest free payment plan to help spread the cost if required, please get in touch to discuss this further.

Do I need to get permission from my hospital or midwife? +

Yes, this is very important and it is your responsibility to make sure that your chosen hospital/birth centre will allow me to be present. I am more than happy to meet with them prior to your birth to discuss any concerns that they may have, please just pass on my details.

What if I have a c-section? +

Even if your hospital has a policy against allowing photographers into theatre, I can still come to the hospital to document your story before and after the birth. I am more than happy to set up my camera for either your birth partner of a member of the medical team to use during the birth.

What if I give birth prematurely? +

If you go into labour before you are 38 weeks, I will do my very best to get to you as soon as possible. If I'm unable to get to you in time to document your birth, I will aim to be with you within 48 hours for a Fresh 48 Documentary Session.
