The first week in May we headed off for a midweek family holiday to the absolutely stunning Longlands in Devon. This is our third stay there now and we're already excited for our fourth next year!
The view as you turn into the drive of Longlands is quite simply breathtaking, you are greeted by beautiful green valleys and the coast in the distance.
As this is was our third stay, it really was like being welcomed by old friends, before we were shown to one of the five luxurious safari tents to get unpacked. We are now typical regulars, so much so that we were staying in 'our' tent, Lundy for the third time!
Bella and her team really have thought of everything to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.
Each tent comprises of a Living / Kitchen / Dining area, three bedrooms; one King, one Twin and one Double cabin bed, fully functioning bathroom and wood burner shower room. All this in a safari tent! Each tent also has a gorgeous decked seating area to the front which is fenced, giving extra peace of mind if you have children or dogs with you.
You really only need pack your clothes for your stay, absolutely everything else has been catered for, and if there is the odd thing which you have forgotten, I can almost guarantee that you'll find it in Longlands Larder shop.
It is brimming with the most delicious food and drinks, alongside everyday essentials and items to entertain the children!
If you really want to switch off, Bella will even cook for you! Yes, you heard that right! We sampled the homemade lasagne, chicken korma and spaghetti bolognese during our stay. Each were absolutely delicious, so delicious in fact that I never got round to taking any photos of them!
We rarely left Longlands during the duration of our stay, although we did visit Lynton and Lynmouth which is a favourite of ours. It's just so pretty there! We also had to try and find an Exmoor pony or two.
We spent the rest of our time simply relaxing as a family and going on nature trails around the Longlands site. Exploring the lake, paddling in the stream, playing football and taking in the glorious smell of the wild garlic.
Longlands really is the best place to unplug from the outside world and reconnect as a family, just enjoying the simple pleasures in life.
During our next stay we fully intend to take advantage of the newly installed hot tub and may even treat ourselves to a spa treatment or two!
Once the little lady was in bed each evening, we would snuggle under a blanket on the deck and wait for the beautiful sunsets. Although on the last evening our little lady did request to stay up and see it herself, and how could we refuse when they are this stunning!
Longlands, we can't wait to see you again next year!
You can visit the Longlands website here for more information about their truly luxurious glamping experience.
