I have followed the lovely Megan on my personal Instagram for a couple of years now. Her feed is absolutely gorgeous, documenting her daughters everyday adventures which she runs alongside her blog, Little Miss Tiggy.
We've chatted on and off over this time and shortly after announcing her pregnancy back in May, Megan told me that she hadn't really taken many bump photos in her previous pregnancies, which is something I regret not doing more of myself, so I said that I'd be more than happy to help sort that out for her.
Megan is based in Carmarthen so it needed a little bit of forward planning, we thought that we could possibly head towards Tenby and make a weekend out of it. My husband completed the Ironman Triathlon there in 2012 and we returned the following year to watch the event, which is also when he got down on one knee and proposed! So it's a special place to us which we have been meaning to go back and visit with our little lady. Anyway, the months whizzed by and before I knew it, it was the end of the summer holidays and we were still struggling to find a date to suit us both.
Late on Friday 29 September, I had a message from Megan explaining that it was all a bit last minute but that her and her husband were heading to the Cotswolds that weekend for a babymoon at the stunning Barnsley House and would I be free to join them at some stage to capture some photos. Luckily I was able to join them on the Sunday, so I set off to meet them for around lunch time.
As I pulled up outside the main entrance of Barnsley House, the doorway was decorated with the most beautiful floral archway from a wedding the previous day. I knew instantly that we would have the most beautiful of backgrounds here for a maternity session.
I met with Megan and Ashley and we decided to head to The Village Pub as none of us had eaten. We sat at a table next to the open fire and it was like being out for a meal with old friends! Given that we had never actually met 'in real life', the conversation flowed and a couple of hours passed before we even realised!
Once back at the house, Megan and Ashley checked in and we were shown to their beautiful split levelled room in The Stables, complete with a jacuzzi!
We made the decision to head out into the beautifully landscaped gardens first as the rain was slowly starting to come in. So once Megan and Ashley were ready, we headed out armed with our umbrellas. The gardens did not disappoint, I squealed with excitement every corner we took, it was a photographers dream location!
It was an absolute pleasure to document this pregnancy for Megan and Ashley, I think that the images really show the love and connection that these two have with each other, it was really beautiful to see . . .
The rain really started to come in so we decided to head back to the room, Megan got changed into the most gorgeous maternity sleepwear, which I have to say looked extremely comfy! I took this opportunity to take some images of Megan relaxing by herself before leaving them both to get settled and enjoy the rest of their babymoon.
